Anne is a multidisciplinary artist based on the traditional and unceded territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, also known as Tofino, BC.
Born and raised in rural Thüringen, Germany, her artistic journey has been profoundly influenced by her experiences traveling and living on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Anne holds a Diploma of Fine Arts from Langara College in Vancouver, where she honed her skills and developed a multifaceted art practice.
Her journey as a creative has been shaped by diverse experiences. Starting with selling prints at the Tofino market and painting surfboards, her work has expanded to include large-scale public art group installations in Vancouver, as well as live portrait drawing.
With each new endeavor, her practice continues to defy the limitations of any single label, reflecting a dynamic artist who embraces change and creativity in all its forms.
Seeking to question and deconstruct the limitations imposed by conventional narratives, her work serves as a reflective exploration of her personal journey — both physical and psychological.
Anne's multifaceted art practice attempts to engage with complex themes of identity, purpose, and the human connection to the land and community.
Serving as a mirror, reflecting the intricate relationship between self and surroundings, it encourages dialogue about the shared experiences that bind us to the environment and to one another.
